Blogger Shares Her Experiences With Life, Love, Fitness And Motherhood In The City Of Brotherly Love

By Kristina Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It began as a blog about a man (or woman's) best friend, but it became so much more.

A Virginia-native, now Philly resident, is sharing her life experiences, lessons and passions on her blog.

Leslie Brinkley began blogging eight years ago, primarily about her pup, Jackson.

She says, "I wanted it to be a way to keep my then boyfriend, now husband, up to date with the happenings of our dog."

But blogging opened up a whole new world to Leslie, introducing her to other like-minded bloggers and their passions.

"I was soon inspired to start running, at first a 5K, then a 5 miler, to a 10 miler, a half marathon, to a full marathon and even a sprint triathlon! I blogged about my journey running, doing a DIY juice cleanse and losing 20 pounds."

She decided to expand her blog's content to include fitness, her personal life and, of course, Jackson. She even changed the blog's name from, "Jackson's World" to "And Her Little Dog Too."

"I was brainstorming with my roommate Jill over new names. We were at the time obsessed with the musical, "Wicked" and it sort of all came together from there. Also, "The Wizard of Oz" is a favorite of mine."

Along with sharing her journey of dating, to marriage, to motherhood, Leslie also writes about her favorite Philly eateries and events in the city.

"It's been a whirlwind and so much fun to share my life and our experiences in Philadelphia and around the world on my little corner of the world wide web!"

As for her favorite blog posts? She says that's a tough one.

"It's a tie between our pregnancy announcement and my first marathon."
