LeSean McCoy Hopes To Bounce Back From Rough Week

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The importance of the Eagles vs. Cowboys clash on Sunday is not lost on LeSean McCoy. "It a big one," the Eagles running back said on WIP Afternoons on Friday. Not only is this a big game. It could define the Eagles' season.

"I can tell you this. [The Cowboys] will come into this game with a totally different mindset," McCoy said of the Eagles' upcoming opponent. Of course he was drawing a comparison to the Eagles thumping of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas.

McCoy said he believes the Cowboys will be extra motivated on Sunday to get their revenge.

There is added fuel to the fire with this game considering the fact that the Eagles faced them just two weeks ago on Thanksgiving. The passion of that day is still fresh.

"It felt like it was yesterday," McCoy said of the Eagles' win over Dallas. "I don't think a lot can change that fast. I think the game plans for both [teams] have to be similar."

McCoy also described the week of preparation for the Eagles emphasizing that the team was "focused," and that the loss to the Seahawks angered a lot of players in the locker room.

"We want to move past it and get a win," McCoy said.

The Seahawks were also noted for making a few comments after they defeated the Eagles that were disparaging to McCoy and some of his teammates including Mark Sanchez. McCoy refrained from getting into a war of words.

"You can't get upset every time you hear something about you or your team," McCoy said. "It doesn't matter. We got to win games."

McCoy did not play his best game last Sunday and following the loss it was revealed that McCoy was dealing with the passing of his cousin who had died last week in an automobile accident. McCoy talked about his emotions and his frame of mind heading into this big game on Sunday.

"I feel ready to go. The preparation has been great all week," McCoy said. "Every once and awhile, I kind of think about just the situation and everything that happened, but for the most part I've been focused.

"Nothing would be better than for us to go out here, play hard and win this game. My cousin could be smiling up above in a good way."
