Malcolm Jenkins Foundation Hosting Blitz, Bow Ties & Bourbon Fundraiser

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Malcolm Jenkins has always been about giving back and community. It's why during the Eagles' bye week Jenkins took the time and plunged the efforts through his charity, the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, to feed over 3,000 people in Columbus, Ohio, as a part of the foundation's "Get Ready Fest."

Now the Eagles' star safety wants to feed you.

Jenkins will be holding a special event, The Blitz, Bow Ties & Bourbon fundraiser on Monday, Dec. 8 at the Union Trust, at 717 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, which supports the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation's programming to support youth in the Greater Philadelphia community. (For tickets and more information please visit http://www.BlitzBowtiesBourbon.eventbrite.com).

Other Eagles scheduled to attend include Mark Sanchez, Connor Barwin, Brandon Boykin and Jeremy Maclin. Former Eagles Hollis Thomas and Vince Papale are also scheduled to attend.

"We used to hold something similar in New Orleans when I was with the Saints, but this is different, featuring some wine tasting and some bourbon," Jenkins said. "We'll have live music, a live auction for different things, and a bourbon tasting area. It is a good time. It's to raise money for a good cause. It's nothing formal. We'd like people to come out and enjoy themselves, party and have a good time all to help kids."

Proceeds from the event go to the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, which supports youth and offers scholarship and after-school programs. The foundation is stretched out over the New Orleans area, Jenkins' hometown, Piscataway, N.J., Columbus, Ohio, and now Philadelphia.

Also, the Malcolm Jenkins Foundation is offering a VIP experience that includes two premium seats and VIP passes to join him on the sideline at the Eagles v. Cowboys showdown here in Philly on December 14! To enter, go to http://www.omaze.com/experiences/malcolm-jenkins
