Ferguson Protesters March Through Center City And Gather At City Hall During Tree Lighting Ceremony

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hundreds of local protesters upset with the decision of the grand jury in the police shooting of an unarmed black teen in Ferguson, Missouri are back on the streets of Philadelphia Wednesday night.

It started as a silent sit-in at 30th Street Station.

"It's a passive way of letting those in power know folks are not happy with the direction things are going in."

Then the crowd took their protest to the streets of Center City.

"There's injustice going on against people of color by the police and things have to change. The only way change is going to come is by people out here protesting."

The march eventually brought the protesters to City Hall where they voiced their frustration during the holiday tree lighting ceremony.

"These things like this mobilize people so that more action can happen. This is just the beginning kind of thing."

Throughout the protest there was a heavy police presence, but the demonstration stayed peaceful.
