PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – I hope your Thanksgiving dinner was a good one. If you ate too much you are not alone…and if you are like many of us you probably had your share of carbs with potato, stuffing, cakes and pies. Now it is a day later and I have a warning.

Many people who have been exercising or watching their diets might be frustrated and think “oh well, I ate too much yesterday – I might as well eat too much today”. But this is the big moment. There is nothing wrong with eating a big meal at a family celebrations but this is when you have to put the brakes on overeating.

The holiday season has many temptations but my advice is to pick your spots. Enjoy certain celebrations but in between pride yourself on a balanced diet so the next few weeks don’t set you back greatly.
