PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials say a patient at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania has tested negative for Ebola.

“Preparations for the possibility of caring for a patient with the Ebola virus have been underway for several months at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). A patient who recently returned from West Africa was evaluated in a special isolation room at HUP overnight. Test results show the patient is not infected with the Ebola virus. HUP is one of the area’s designated Ebola treatment centers.
