2 Teens Caught On Tape Vandalizing New Manayunk Building

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for two teenagers who were caught on tape vandalizing a newly built Manayunk Park and the damage is extensive.
Last week, footage from a security camera showed the two suspects being destructive at the Venice Island Performance Arts & Recreation Center.
In the footage, you can see one of the suspects kicking over decorative lights on a staircase on the side of the Center that opened to the public a little over a month ago.
"I know Manayunk's trying to revamp around here and it's just sad someone would do this to such a nice building," visitor Mary Kate Coleman tells CBS3 Eyewitness News.
One suspect was also seen knocking over about a half-dozen lights --not even fazed when a car pulls up nearby. That same teen also picked at LED lights at the bottom of a handrail, eventually pulling the strip out of the rail which shut the lights off. He finished by throwing them in the air..
"I think it's pretty horrible," visitor Alexa Bricker says. " I mean, the building is brand new and it's a really nice building so, especially since it cost so much money, I think it's a shame."
The suspects are believed to be 14-16 years old. The damage is expected to cost upwards of $20,000-$30,000 to fix.
Police ask you give them a call with any information.
