Philadelphia Residents Are Stressed Out (But You Already Knew That)

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Let's face it: Everyone's stressed.

But people in some places are more stressed than others, and Philadelphians are apparently some of the more stressed in the state.

A new report from Credit Donkey ranks Philly the third most stressful city in the state.

One reason for that? Long commute times.

"Our data shows that 'The City of Brotherly Love' is no stranger to tension," Credit Donkey reports. "Like most big cities, the time it takes to commute from point A to point B can fluctuate depending on the time of day. Philly residents suffer through the second longest commute on our list, commuting around 31.8 minutes each morning to get to work."

Another reason we're stressed is crime. Philadelphia had the highest crime rate of any of the places on the Pa. list.

According to Credit Donkey, the rankings were determined by considering data on five factors: the odds of being a victim of a violent crime, commute time, hours worked per week, percentage of divorces and percentage of income spent on housing.

Things aren't all bad in our city, though. Philly had the list's lowest percentage of divorced residents of both sexes.

In case you were wondering what Pennsylvania city is the most stressful, it's Clairton, Pa.; a small mill city located just outside Pittsburgh.
