2 Year Anniversary Of Sandy Has Some People Talking About How Far NJ Has (And Has Not) Come In The Aftermath

By David Madden

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Earlier this week, we told you of continued dissatisfaction from victims of Hurricane Sandy with relief efforts handled by the state of New Jersey two years after the Superstorm. But ask people across the state, and you get a different picture of how things stand.

The Monmouth University Poll found a majority of state residents feel New Jersey is still rebounding from Sandy. Poll director Patrick Murray, says "Fifty-four percent are satisfied with the state's recovery. Most of them, of course, were not really impacted by the storm at all, maybe the inconvenience of having the power out for up to a week or so."

That number drops the closer you get to those who actually lost everything. Fifty-one percent for those living in communities affected by the storm. Forty-seven percent for people who know a Sandy victim personally. And 33% for victims themselves who have been tracked by Monmouth over the last two years.

Forty-two percent question how federal relief money is being spent by the state.
