Police: Thief Knocks Down Elderly Woman, Steals Her Purse In South Jersey
BURLINGTON CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Police are searching for the man who pushed down an elderly woman and then stole her purse in Burlington City, New Jersey.
It happened around 2 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot area in the 200 block of High Street.
Police say it appears a 74-year-old woman was followed from a location outside the city limits to where she parked her vehicle. She was shoved to the ground by a man who then grabbed he purse and took off.
The woman sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described only as a tall, black male.
A surveillance photo of the suspect's car (above photo) was taken by the newly installed security cameras purchased by the City of Burlington. Anyone that can identify the owner or have observed this vehicle in their neighborhood is urged to call the Detective Matthew Mercuri at 609-386-0262.
