Terminally Ill Woman Admits She's Having Second Thoughts After Making Controversial Decision To End Her Life

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Twenty-nine-year-old Brittany Maynard, who is terminally ill with brain cancer, has admitted she is having second thoughts after making a controversial decision to end her own life.

Maynard made the confession in a new video released by an advocacy group that is involved in end-of-life choices.

She had initially intended to take her life, with doctor's assistance, this Saturday, November 1—but now she says she is not quite sure.

"I still have enough joy and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn't seem like the right time. But it will come because I feel myself getting sicker and sicker. It's happening each week."

Maynard and her husband live in Oregon, which is one of three states that have "death with dignity" laws.
