Sixers Complete Moves To Add Travis Outlaw And Malcolm Thomas

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Monday, the Sixers announced two moves to acquire a pair of forwards to add to the roster ahead of Monday afternoon's roster cut down deadline. The team added Malcolm Thomas and Travis Outlaw to the squad.

The Sixers signed Malcolm Thomas. The free agent forward was set to take his talents overseas, but was contacted by the Sixers over the weekend before agreeing to a deal on Monday.

Thomas is entering his fourth NBA season and was named an All-Star in the NBDL last season. While playing for Los Angeles and Austin, Thomas averaged 18.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.33 blocks.

Later in the afternoon, the Sixers announced that they made a swap with the New York Knicks. The Sixers are sending forward Arnett Moultrie to the Knicks in exchange for veteran forward Travis Outlaw. The Sixers will also receive a second round selection from the Knicks in 2019.

The Sixers also earned the right to swap the Clippers second round pick in 2018 (which the Sixers own) for the Knicks pick in that second round.

Outlaw is entering his 13th NBA season. Last season he averaged 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game as a member of the Sacramento Kings.
