I-95 Pothole Puts The Brakes On Philadelphia Commuters

By Tim Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A morning of rough commutes throughout the region included a pothole on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia that did some damage.

Not the way you want to start your day, like Pedro, who was on his way home after dropping off his dad at work. Then, all of a sudden....pothole.

"I wasn't expecting it, I didn't notice," he said. "The rain made it worse."

Pedro was one of ten drivers who hit the rain-filled center lane pothole on I-95 South, not far from Cottman Avenue, causing a flat front tire (photo above).

Joining him, Susan from Bensalem, who thought the morning commute would be just like every other one:

"We drive this road everyday. We work at 30th Street Station. We drive everyday. We never hit it before. But all these cars hit it so it had to be something that just happened."

Roadside assistance did arrive to get Susan and everyone else on their way.
