Firefighter Reportedly Injured During Tacony Building Blaze

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials say a firefighter was injured after reportedly falling during a fire on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 2:40 p.m., fire crews responded to a building fire at 4614 Princeton Avenue in the Tacony section of the city.

Firefighters arrived to a two-story brick building with heavy fire coming from the upper floor.

A firefighter was injured and transported to the hospital during the blaze, and initial reports indicate he fell.

It's not clear how serious the victim's injuries are.

The fire was placed under control around 3:22 p.m. and an investigation is underway. The Red Cross said it was assisting a family of five affected by the fire.
