PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Students at a West Philadelphia charter school were briefly evacuated from the building this morning.

School officials say students at the Belmont Charter School at 40th and Brown Streets were removed from their classroom around 8am after a strange odor was detected. However, they were all back in class less than a half hour later.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the odor, but determined the building is safe to start the school day.
