Police Investigate Attempted Abduction Reported In Haddonfield

HADDONFIELD, N.J., (CBS) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who is alleged to have attempted to abduct a teenage girl as she walked home from work in Haddonfield, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Haddonfield Police Chief Ted Stuessy announced Monday.

Authorities say the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the unit lock of Tanner Street.

According to authorities, a man in a silver or gray sedan asked the girl her name and when she ignored him, he reportedly exited his vehicle and grabbed her. She resisted and the man reportedly fled to his vehicle and drove away.

Authorities say the man is described as in his 20s or 30s, with medium length, dirty blonde shaggy hair and may have scratches on his face, neck and chest from his encounter with the victim.
