NJ Transit Adds Bus Routes To Its Smartphone Ticket-Purchase App

NEWARK, N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey Transit is expanding its mobile ticket-purchasing app to include bus routes.
Starting September 25th, passengers will be able to buy their monthly pass for 59 routes in South Jersey (see below) on the "MyTix" app.
"Customers just have go and download the app onto their Android or or iPhone, and just follow the simple process," says New Jersey Transit spokesman William Smith.
Smith says the program is already available for NJT rail customers, and has grown exponentially over the past six months.
"It's really exploded in popularity," he said today. "We have over 250,000 customers who have opened up accounts."
The 59 bus routes, which serve communities throughout South Jersey, as well as Philadelphia, include:
