Inside The Regusters Jury Room: 'Unsettling' Reactions From Defendant

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One juror who helped return the six "guilty" verdicts against kidnapper and child molester Christina Regusters said it was "heartwrenching" to hear testimony from the victim and the victim's mother.

He also said the defendant gave some jurors an unsettling feeling because of her lack of emotion during the trial.

"(It was) unsettling to see some of her reactions to certain testimony and at other times how cold she looked," said the juror, who is choosing to remain anonymous. "She was just totally unmoved and seemed to have zero remorse."

During deliberations, he said, there were a couple of other jurors who were on the fence about some of the charges, but open discussion and reviewing the evidence ultimately led to a unanimous decision.

"We had a very good group of people who were intelligent and conscientious about the facts, about the evidence. We wanted to do the best job that we could," this juror said.

He said he and the others took their role in this case very seriously and fully understood the magnitude of their decision on someone else's life.

When asked by KYW Newsradio if they got it right, he simply responded, "Yes."
