Cirque du Soleil Ready to Swing Into Wells Fargo Center

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tonight is opening night of the newest Cirque du Soleil show to visit Philadelphia.
Today, nearly 100 traveling crew members from the troupe were at the Wells Fargo Center preparing for the show.
Show publicist Vanessa Napoli says this production is titled "Varekai."
"Varekai is a word that means wherever in the language of the Gypsies, and it picks up where the Greek mythology of Icarus ends. Icarus flew too close to the sun and his feathered wings melted and he plummeted into the ocean, but in our version Icarus would land in this magical enchanted forest and begin a new journey," she says.
And Napoli says Varekai is different from other Cirque du Soleil shows.
"of course it has the Cirque du Soleil signature, so it has the amazing acrobatics, the live music, the costumes; but it's extremely theatrical. I mean, the acrobatics these guys do are also very different from any other show," she tells KYW Newsradio.
Performances run through Sunday.
