2015 Hyundai Sonata A Shining Sedan

By George Polgar

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The new 2015 Hyundai Sonata kicks peel-out gravel in the face of auto wags who declare the demise of the sedan in the face of waves of new SUVs and ever popular small cars.

And while changing consumer tastes and exigencies shape the product mix, cars like the new seventh generation Hyundai Sonata are a breath of fresh air in the tired sedan category.

Following the earlier intro of the Genesis, the new Sonata sports the 2.0 fluidic exterior design scheme with the bold new front grill.

More serious and elegant than the earlier Sonata – which was an enormous seller – this sedan integrates style, technology, comfort and value into a very handsome package.

Starting at $21,150 for the SE with a 185-hp 2.4L 4-cylinder and topping out at $28,575 for the bawdy 245-hp twin-scroll turbo 4-cylinder Sport 2.0T, the Sonata covers the range from a long-haul fleet vehicle to a family friendly sport sedan.

Made from the engine up in the Hyundai factory in Alabama, the Sonata build quality inside and out is quite impressive and the car is really fun to drive in the top end Sport model.
