Joel Embiid Finally Makes It To Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- We have all been wrapped up in what Joel Embiid has done on Twitter since being drafted 3rd overall by the Sixers. The big man has been out in California rehabbing from his foot surgery, but it looks like he has finally made his way east to Philadelphia.

Embiid tweeted out a series of pictures on Friday that undeniably attest to his whereabouts in the City of Brotherly Love.

It looks like Embiid wasted no time taking part in the city's greatest of traditions. The new Sixer had his first Philly cheesesteak. Embiid looks pretty happy to see the sandwich. He went with Pat's it appears. He has a lot of other choices throughout the city that he can compare to at his leisure.

After filling up on the goodness that is a Philly cheesesteak, Embiid hit up the store to try on a few jerseys. In a new city you need new threads.

Embiid first decided to try on the uniform of one of the city's all-time greatest athletes, Allen Iverson.

Sixers fans are certainly hoping that Embiid can have a similar impact on the team as did Iverson, but they are probably hoping his games mirrors that of the second jersey he tried on.

There have been no lack of comparisons between Embiid and Hakeem Olajuwon. As the picture shows, Embiid is hoping to live up to those expectations.

The Sixers have not yet announced whether or not they will introduce Embiid to the city in the typical form of a press conference. It is reasonable to imagine they will soon, but for now it's just good to see him make his way to Philadelphia.
