Several Types Of Fruit Recalled Due To Listeria Concerns

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A California packing company has recalled fruit due to Listeria concerns.

Wawona Packing Company announced it was voluntarily recalling certain lots of whole peaches (white and yellow), nectarines (white and yellow), plums and pluots picked between June 1, 2014 and July 12, 2014.

While no illnesses have been linked to the products, several stores said today they would also be pulling the fruit from their shelves.

Among the stores voluntarily complying with the recall are Wegmans, Costco, Trader Joe's, Giant, and Martin's food stores.   Customers who have brought the fruit should either discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

The recalled products may have been sent to other stores across the country as well. For information on the affected fruit and photographs, visit: www.wawonapacking.com.
