SEPTA Bus Driver Assaulted In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The driver of a SEPTA Route 54 bus was assaulted by two men early Sunday morning in North Philadelphia.

This happened just after 1 a.m. at 22nd and Lehigh Avenues.

Investigators say two men jumped on the bus, assaulted the driver, then jumped off and fled in a white Mercedes Benz. The car had PA tags and was last seen traveling down 23rd Street.

The driver sustained minor injuries. No injuries to any passengers were reported. They were taken to another bus following the incident.

Police are investigating.
