Phillies Battle Marlins Again Behind Buchanan

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After giving everyone hope that they may have finally found their stride with that five-game winning streak to start their last road trip, the Phillies have now gone the other way, losing their last three games.

They will look to snap that streak tonight as they continue their series with the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park.

Last night Miami won the first game of this series, 4-0. The Phillies managed just six hits as they continue to struggle at the plate at home. They are hitting just .229 at Citizens Bank Park this season and last night was the 8th time they have been shutout at home here in 2014, in just 38 games.

David Buchanan gets the start for the Phillies. The rookie right-hander is 3-3 with a 4.95 ERA in 6 starts since being called up from AAA Lehigh Valley. His most impressive start in the big leagues was his last one as he allowed just a run on four hits in 7 2/3 innings of work, beating the Cardinals 4-1 in St. Louis.

Miami will counter on the mound with rookie left-hander Andrew Heaney. This will be his second Major League start. He lost his first last week, but pitched well. He allowed just a run on four hits in six innings of work, losing to the Mets 1-0.

The Phillies are now 34-41 and they are six games out of first in National League East. The Marlins come into tonight at .500, 38-38.

The Phillies line-up tonight vs. Heaney:

1. Jimmy Rollins               SS

2. Carlos Ruiz                    C
