Girl, 12, Charged With Punching Cop In Delaware

MILFORD, Del. (CBS) -- Three juveniles were arrested after a bizarre incident at a buffet restaurant in Delaware.

The incident played out at about 3:20 p.m. on June 20th at the Chinatown Buffet on North DuPont Highway in Milford.

According to investigators, officers with the Milford Police Department were called to the restaurant for the report of disorderly customers.

When they arrived, they encountered a 17-year-old male who was yelling and cursing loudly. The 17-year-old was arrested after several attempts were made to get him to end his behavior.

As the officers were taking the 17-year-old into custody, investigators say a 12-year-old female and a 15-year-old male began to curse at the officers.

After attempts were made to get the pair to calm down, officers attempted to take the 12-year-old into custody. Police say the 12-year-old then threw multiple punches, striking the officer in the chest twice.

At that time, the 15-year-old attempted to intervene while officers attempted to take the 12-year-old into custody.

Both were eventually subdued and placed under arrest.

The 12-year-old was charged with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct and Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer. She was arraigned at JP Court #2, where bond was set at $1750 secured. She was committed to People's Place in Milford.

The 15-year-old was charged with Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct and released to a parent.

The 17-year-old was charged with Resisting Arrest and released to a parent.
