Suspect Sought In Reported Sexual Assault In Camden

CAMDEN, N.J., (CBS) -- Police in Camden County are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a reported sexual assault Friday.

Just before 5 a.m., investigators say an officer located a woman near the corner of 9th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Camden who reportedly had been sexually assaulted.

According to Camden County Police, the alleged suspect met the victim around 10:50 p.m. Thursday night in the area of Broadway and Chestnut Street. Police say the suspect and victim walked together before the suspect allegedly threatened her with a knife and forced her into an abandoned warehouse at 7th Street and Kaighn Avenue. Police say the suspect then sexually assaulted the victim inside the warehouse.

The suspect is described by police as a Black male, 5'5", 180 pounds, bald and wearing a green polo shirt and khaki shorts.
