Plenty To Do In Town On This Summer-Like Weekend

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - This weekend is the second unofficial weekend of summer, but since it's not a holiday, many might not be heading down the shore. But, don't worry -- there's a lot to do right here in Philadelphia this weekend.

Jodi Milkman with the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation says the fun in Philadelphia starts early in the morning.

"First off, six days a week we have free yoga on the Race Street Pier (pictured above)."

For those who like to exercise but prefer to sleep in, "Every weekend in June we have Paddle Penns Landing in the Penns Landing Marina, where you can rent kayaks and swan boats and get in the water and enjoy the beautiful river and the spectacular views."

Gabby Heights with the AIGA Gallery points out this weekend is First Friday in Old City: "The streets get as packed as the galleries do. There are a lot of outside vendors. It's a happening."

And Donna Recole with the Arden Theater says this weekend is their annual Spring Soiree, "It is a Jason Robert Brown cabaret. It's a benefit for our new Hamilton Family Arts Center."
