Tips For Lowering Lipids

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you want to lower your lipids through the diet the number one thing you can do is reduce your intake of saturated fats or trans fats.

Other things that can help are adding tree nuts to your diet and, if possible, turning to a Mediterranean diet.

One of the best foods you can consume is almonds. However you should stay away from the salted almonds.

There are numerous tables and guidelines if you really want to go into detail but when you take this approach and add aerobic exercise it can make a big difference.

Increasing omega three fatty acids, limiting alcoholic drinks and adding fiber to the diet help as well.

I don't think I am telling you things that you do not know but the key is that these common sense steps can make a big difference
