Firefighters Injured Battling Blaze At Olney Homes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Three firefighters were injured battling a blaze that broke out Monday evening at several homes in the Olney section of Philadelphia.

The fire started just before 5 p.m. at one of the homes located on the 100 block of Linton Street.

Three firefighters were taken to Einstein Hospital. Two suffered from heat exhaustion while another was complaining about chest pain, according to officials. A volunteer was also taken to the hospital.

Three total homes were damaged as a result of the fire, which broke out in the middle home.

Red Cross officials say they are assisting four families, 15 people total. They say all the families have somewhere to stay Monday.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
