BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a woman accused of attacking her 94-year-old grandmother inside the southern New Jersey home they shared.

Ocean County prosecutors say bail was set at $150,000 cash for 37-year-old Katherine Schubert of Brick.

Authorities say Schubert’s mother went to the home Sunday after she was unable to contact her daughter or mother for two days. When she entered the home with a friend of her daughter’s, they found Schubert “highly intoxicated” and the grandmother slumped over a bed in her bedroom.

The elderly woman had suffered multiple injuries, including a brain bleed, blood shot eyes and multiple bruising and lacerations. She remained hospitalized Monday, but further details on her condition were not disclosed.

It was not known Monday if Schubert had retained an attorney.
