Stolen Puppy From Boyertown Pet Store Found; Woman Turns Herself In To Police

BOYERTOWN, Pa., (CBS) --  A puppy that was allegedly stolen from a Boyertown pet store has been found.

The pet store owner Samuel Zimmers said, "The puppy is back safe and sound! A very special thank you to Office Kyle Morgan and the Boyertown Police Department and to all those involved in bringing the puppy back! With the help of social media, news coverage, and customers who came forth helping us identify the three women. A sincere thank you from all of us at Zimmers Pets."

The alleged theft happened on Sunday at Zimmers Pets.

According to police, Diane Taglieber, 27, turned herself in Tuesday morning.

She has been charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing a puppy worth $699.

Police say the dog was returned after someone found it in the park.

Taglieber allegedly let the dog loose in the park after seeing reports of the puppy being stolen.

She has been released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
