Maple Shade Shredding/Recycle Event Saturday 5/17

By Jim Donovan: Sustainable Maple Shade will be hosting its first ever Earth Day Celebration and Shredding Event from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 17, at the Maple Shade Township Building at 200 Stiles Avenue in Maple Shade, NJ.

A shredding truck from DocuVault Delaware Valley will be properly disposing of confidential documents. The public and Maple Shade business owners can bring up to three paper case boxes full to be shredded. Plastic folders, carbon paper and pictures will not be accepted. Volunteers will unload cars.

In addition, Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey will be collecting donations as well as recycling electronics such as TVs, printers or computers.

The Maple Shade Library will be on hand offering a book recycling program, so come pick up a new read and donate some of the ones you've read.

In addition, a number of vendors will be on hand to discuss how residents can be more sustainable. Interactive displays on gardening, composting and recycling will be offered.
