Philadelphia Bars Team Up With Local Gin Distillery To Create Cocktails For A Cause

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A number of Philadelphia restaurants are teaming up with a local gin distillery to sell cocktails for cancer.

The month-long effort features cocktails centered on the Philly-based Bluecoat American Dry Gin.

Creations include the Watermelon Gin Ricky, a drink made with gin, lime, watermelon, basil simple syrup and soda that's being sold at South Philly's Devil's Den, and the Bitter Blues, a gin, grapefruit juice, St. Germain and lemon libation from Jet Wine Bar, among others.

So far, eight Philadelphia area bars and restaurants are participating in the fundraiser: Rex 1516, Devil's Den, Barren Hill Tavern, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House, Ashton Cigar Bar, Jet Wine Bar and Old Eagle Tavern.

Here's the full list:

Rex 1516 - Gins & Roses, $10, Bluecoat Gin, Old Tom's Gin, watermelon juice, dry vermouth, lemon juice and rose bitters
Devil's Den - Watermelon Gin Ricky, $9, made with gin, lime, watermelon, basil simple syrup and soda
