Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Tractor Trailer On Route 70 In Burlington County
SOUTHAMPTON (CBS) -- A pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer and killed while attempting to cross busy Route 70 in Southampton, Burlington County Monday.
According to New Jersey State Police, the accident happened at about 5:22 a.m. as the pedestrian was crossing Route 70 near Purgatory Road. A stretch of the highway from Medford to Southampton was closed for several hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The identity of the victim has not been released.
