Hazmat Situation Cleared At New Jersey Hospital

BERLIN N.J. (CBS) – Police and Camden County hazmat teams responded to Virtua Hospital in Berlin for reports of a hazmat situation.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, earlier today, a Winslow woman opened an envelope and experienced a burning sensation on her hands.

She transported herself to Virtua Hospital in Berlin for treatment. Police were contacted and the hospital was quarantined.

There was not any substance or white powder in the envelope, but it was still tested and received negative results for any hazmat substances.

The woman involved has a history of skin sensitivity to glue and it is likely the cause of her symptoms.

The quarantine at the hospital has been lifted.
