Much Warmer But Also Unsettled For Part Of Weekend

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Clouds have been slow to break on this Friday, but you can feel the warmer air in place across the region - warmth that is poised to stick around into the weekend and next week!

The problem with this time of year is that there's still a bit of a battle between cool and warm, and this volatility does bring the threat for unsettled weather.

We'll see that tomorrow, with clouds in place most of the day and scattered showers and thunderstorms around, especially late in the day and through the evening, when the warmth is in place. Highs will approach 80 across the region. If you plan to head out to the Dad Vail Regatta, have an indoor place to head to if dark clouds roll in overhead.

Expect much prettier weather on Sunday for your Mother's Day plans, as highs reach the low 80s with a good deal of sunshine all day long! Sunday is also Race for the Cure Philadelphia, and when the festivities kick off on the Parkway at 6:30 a.m., we expect sunshine and temperatures in the low 60s - perfect race weather. I'll be there, along with the other wonderful Women of Eyewitness News, so make sure to come say hello if you'll be a part of this great event!

The warmth continues into the start of next week, with highs reaching the middle 80s Monday and Tuesday, but things turn unsettled late Tuesday and we'll be tracking more wet weather right through Thursday.
