After The Rain…Really Warming Up!

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A slow moving warm front is moving our way, and disturbances tracking along it, will bring showers and scattered storms to the area through Thursday morning.

Expect some pockets of steady rain and rumbles of thunder during Thursday's morning commute, with the heaviest rain falling to the north of Philadelphia. The showers will end by noon and we will be left with clouds for the afternoon.

The temperature will vary from north to south.  Highs will be in the lower 60's north of Philadelphia. The city will be near 70 degrees, and to the south, in Delaware, temperatures will rise well into the 70's.

Friday the warm front will push north of our entire area, putting us is the "warm sector". The day may start with some fog, but with any sun in the afternoon, temperatures will soar into the upper 70's, and in some spots, 80 degrees.

Once we warm up, temperatures will stay there through the weekend and into early next week.

High temperatures will be around 80 degrees Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday looks unsettled though, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible in the morning,

and again in the afternoon with a front passing.

Mother's Day will be partly sunny and pleasant, great weather for mom and Sunday morning's Race for the Cure.
