Family Pleads For Help in Solving January Double Murder in Lawncrest

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For the first time, the family of a mother and son from the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia who were murdered in January are speaking publicly and appealing to anyone with information in the case to step forward.

Donna Muller, 49, and her 22-year-old son, Richard, were found shot to death on January 19th inside the family's home in the 300 block of Stevens Street, in Lawncrest (see related story).

"I cannot sleep at night knowing that the person or people who did this who took such beautiful people off this earth is still out there," says Heather Muller-Kunf, daughter and sister of the victims.

She and her aunt, Catherine Rohland, are appealing to the public for help.

"If you have heard or saw anything that night or if you know something, anything,  please come forward and speak up," says Rohland.  "We beg you to use the anonymous tip line, 215-686-TIPS."

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward per victim for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers.

Capt. James Clark of the Philadelphia Police Department's homicide unit says detectives don't know if the Mullers' homicides have anything to do with an unsolved February triple murder inside a home in the 200 block of Martins Mill Road, in the nearby Lawndale neighborhood.
