Device Detonated At Philadelphia School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A student was arrested after a homemade device was detonated outside of a Philadelphia school, a school district spokesperson confirmed to CBS 3.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Feltonville School of Arts and Sciences.

No one was injured.

The School District of Philadelphia spokesperson says the device was made in a plastic bottle.

The spokesperson says school officials and police also found additional materials inside the bathroom at the school.

The student is facing a felony charge for causing or risking a catastrophe.

Further details were not immediately available.
