WWE Legend James 'Ultimate Warrior' Hellwig Dies At 54 Years Old

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Just days after his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame, former wrestling superstar James Hellwig, better known as the Ultimate Warrior, has died.

Hellwig, 54 years old, passed away Tuesday night, according to the WWE. Hellwig appeared on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, and while in character, thanked the crowd for his success, and remarked that the legend of The Ultimate Warrior would live on forever because of them.

"Speak to me, warriors," Hellwig said to the crowd. In return, the crowd chanted "warrior, warrior, warrior."

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own," Hellwig said. "Every man's heart, one day beats, its final beat, his lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life, makes the blood pulse the the body of others, it makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life, than his essence, his spirit will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those that honor him and make what that man did live forever. You, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior.

Ultimate Warrior had recently come back to the WWE, and signed a contract to be an ambassador for the organization, much like Hulk Hogan currently did.

Hellwig is survived by his wife Dana and two daughters.
