Making A Run For The 70s This Week

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --The sun returned just in time for the Phillies home opener, though it will be blustery and a bit chilly during the game. As skies clear, a cool breeze from the west is gaining strength, and temperatures will feel about 5-10 degrees colder than normal during the course of play. A west wind shouldn't impact the game much, however, as the orientation of the stadium generally blocks this wind.

We've got some pleasant spring weather to look forward to for the rest of the week, with a warming trend in place as we head toward the weekend. Tomorrow will be a little cooler, with a breeze from the northwest. Temperatures will hang right around the 60 mark for most of us, though it is a bright and sunny day. Thursday warms up, and will be a lovely spring day, the high reaching the upper 60's!

Our next system is a cold front that moves through the area during Friday afternoon, delivering the chance for showers. A wave could ride along that front into Saturday morning, bringing the chance for lingering clouds and showers to kick off the weekend. But temperatures will remain in the upper 60's both days, and with more sunshine on Sunday, we will make a run for 70!
