Body Pulled From Schuylkill River

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating the discovery of a body that was pulled from the Schuylkill River Monday morning.

The body was found in the Schuylkill River near the 3000 block of Penrose Avenue in South Philadelphia.

The body was pulled from the river by the police marine unit.

Authorities say the body is that of a male, but the identification was not immediately known. It appears the body was in the water for an extended period of time.

The discovery remains under investigation.
