“When choosing America’s best beer bars we focused not only on the number of taps and uniqueness of the kegs,” T+L said. “But also made sure there were knowledgeable bartenders to help you sort out your saisons from your stouts.”

“The proprietors [of Monk’s] take beer so seriously they give a tutorial on their website on how to properly enjoy it,” T+L explains, while also noting the bar’s own Monk’s Flemish Sour, which is brewed in Belgium, and the spot’s delicious mussels.

Other bars on the list? Avenue Pub in New Orleans, The Pine Box in Seattle and Tørst in Brooklyn.
