Police Arrest Man Accused Of Exposing Himself To Students In Montgomery County

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Police have arrested of a man accused of exposing himself to a group of young girls as they walked to and from school in Norristown.

Angel Aponte-Rodriguez is accused of indecent exposure, open lewdness, corruption of minors and other related charges.

A 13-year-old girl told police she was walking to school on February 18 when she heard a loud cough. When she looked up she saw an older man exposing himself in the driveway by 1529 Markley Street. She said she saw the same man expose himself in the driveway one week later.

Investigators say they spoke to eight other females who reported seeing a man expose himself in the same area on or around February 25. All of the girls gave a similar description of the man.

Two additional girls reported that they were walking to school on March 12 on Freedley Street towards Markley Street when they saw a man exposing himself.

Investigators recovered surveillance video from the area and it revealed a Hispanic man in the area fixing his pants and zipper while looking back towards the area the girls reported to have been walking.

On Tuesday, March 18 when officers were observing the area, they spotted a man loitering near Powell and Brown Streets and he appeared to be watching the female children as they walked by.

Authorities approached the man, later identified as Aponte-Rodriguez, and saw his pants were fully unzipped.

Aponte-Rodriguez was arrested and arraigned. His bail was set at $5,000.
