Suspects in Bucks Jewelry Thefts Eyed in Similar, Related Heists

By Brad Segall

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities in Bucks County today released the identities of the two men taken into custody in connection with a series of jewelry thefts at department stores in three communities (see previous story and video).

The suspects are identified as 27-year-old Mark Donato and 40-year-old James McGrath, both of Philadelphia.

They are each being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, in connection with the theft of nearly $100,000 worth of jewelry from Sears stores at the Neshaminy and Oxford Valley Malls and a K-Mart store in Feasterville.

Bensalem public safety director Fred Harran says the two men are also being investigated for other, similar crimes.

"These investigations take some time," Harran said today, "and as we get some of the evidence back, we've taken DNA.  And we're waiting for that to come back from our laboratory, and I'm sure that's also going to give us some good evidence to put these guys on these particular crimes."

Refusing to elaborate, Harran disclosed they are also looking for a few more suspects.

Donato was arrested by Bensalem police. McGrath was taken into custody in Philadelphia after a brief pursuit.
