Dom Giordano Talks With Real Estate Developer About Alleged Union Harassment

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Matthew Pestronk, the President of Post Brothers, a real estate development firm, called into the Dom Giordano Show today on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT to address the alleged harassment of Sarina Rose, their Vice President of Development, at the hands of union members.

Edward Sweeney, a business agent for Ironworkers Local 401 was arrested and tried in the case, but acquitted as the presiding judge decided his behavior was not serious enough to be considered a crime.

"Judges are elected in Philadelphia unfortunately. The fact that someone wasn't convicted of committing a crime that the judge said he committed is obscene," Pestronk stated, reacting to the verdict.

He went on say behavior like this by unions and the lack of punishment in courts "is illustrative of the complete dinosaur mentality in Philadelphia and why we've lacked job growth and global competitiveness."

"Every morning I wake up and think about making money…I'm not sure what they think about. 'How can I get something for free today?' That's what they must think because I have nothing but respect for the people that work hard. This is not, to us, about union. It's about extortion," Pestronk concluded about what he says his company has been through.
