Drexel Knocks Off CAA Leader Delaware 69-65

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Tavon Allen scored a career-high 25 as Drexel knocked off Colonial Athletic Conference leader Delaware 69-65 on Sunday.

Delaware scored the first 10 points of the game, including 3-pointers by Kyle Anderson and Davon Usher. But Drexel responded immediately, erasing the deficit before the 11 minute mark. Delaware scored the last five points of the half to lead 33-31 at the break.

Drexel (15-12, 7-7) led by six on Allen's layup with 15:07 left, but that was either team's largest lead after intermission until the waning moments. Delaware went up one on Carl Baptiste's layup with 2:42 remaining, but Frantz Massenat made four free throws sandwiched around an Allen layup as Drexel escaped with the win.

Chris Fouch had 19 points for Drexel, while Massenat finished with 11.

Devon Saddler led Delaware (20-9, 12-2) with 20 points. Usher had 19 and Baptiste had nine points and 11 rebounds.
