PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two former Phillies will be in the booth along with play by play man Tom McCarthy this season.

 Matt Stairs and Jamie Moyer will provide color analysis during Phillies broadcasts this season. They will replace Chris Wheeler and Gary “Sarge” Matthews in the booth.

“We are thrilled to have World Series Champions Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs join our Phillies broadcast team,” Comcast SportsNet president Brian Monihan said in a release. “These two former Phillies bring a unique perspective to the booth, and their expert analysis will add a new level of energy, insight and enjoyment to our Phillies broadcasts.”

Jamie Moyer tweeted that he was in Philadelphia a few weeks ago, when most assumed he was interviewing for the job. Matt Stairs was in town two weeks ago for 94WIP’s Wing Bowl 22, and it is assumed he interviewed at the same time.

Both Moyer and Stairs were members of the Phillies 2008 World Championship team.
