Food An Important Part Of Super Bowl Sunday For Many

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Super Bowl is almost upon us, and for some people, the food is just as important as the game itself. Folks were gearing up for their parties by doing some food shopping on Saturday.
Center City Super Fresh manager John Kerlin says they've seen a huge increase in customers this weekend:
"I'd say it's about 20 percent heavier than normal."
From fruit to ribs to cheese, folks are buying a variety of foods to their parties:
"I'm getting stuff to make dessert for my friend's party."
"I like Doritos, Cheetos -- nothing that needs preparation."
Some people admit they have a strategy when it comes to grubbing on Super Bowl Sunday:
"You start with the smaller stuff, the less filling stuff first and then you make sure you leave room though for like the big, the wings and stuff and then you make sure you always save room for dessert."
"The key is to start early because everybody will eventually find out what the good stuff is. You have to be the first to the table."
And some folks even went as far as saying the food is more important to them on Super Bowl Sunday than the commercials or even the actual game.
