Philadelphia Flower Show Seeks Social Media Host

By KYW social media editor Melony Roy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Flower Show is looking for a host for its new interactive social media center.

This year, The Philadelphia Flower Show will debut its first ever "Green Room" -- an interactive hub for Flower Show buzz online and in-person.

But they are also in search of a host for the "Green Room," says Horticultural Society director of communications Alan Jaffe:

"We want them to submit a YouTube or Vine video that showcases all of their abilities, their creativity, their engaging personalities. We want them to be funny and smart and above all we want them to be charismatic."

The host will interview flower show VIP's, interact with visitors, and share behind the scene stories.

The Flower Show will be using social media for submissions and to help pick a winner.

"People can send a video to Facebook. We're looking for two-minute videos, no longer than two minutes. We need them all by February 4th," Jaffe says.

The more "likes" and "shares" you receive, the better chance of winning . Five finalists will be selected for an in-person interview and the winner will be announced on February 13th.

The show opens March 1st.
